Documentary Viewing: Going Home Like a Shooting Star

On Sunday, March 2nd, after the 10:30 Mass there will be a showing of the documentary, Going Home Like a Shooting Star, the story of Thea Bowman (1937-1990), a Black American Franciscan sister whose cause for canonazation began officially in 2018.
This hour-long documentary sponsored by her home diocese of Jackson, Mississippi, tells the story of the powerful, prohetic life of Sr. Thea who devoted her life to educating and challenging the Church and our society to open its arms to fully embrace all of God’s children. She was unapologetically Black, employing her superb musical and communication skills to ensure the inclusion of Black Catholic contributions to the faith and its liturgical celebration.
