Community Helping Community

St. Agnes is partnering with Shepherdstown Shares to provide needed perishable food items to families in need in the 25443 area code.  Shepherdstown Shares is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization whose mission is to respond to any crisis that threatens the lives, vitality and prosperity of the Shepherdstown community.  During this difficult time many in our community are experiencing both food insecurity and financial distress.  By helping families meet their grocery needs, it is possible to ease their financial stress enough so that they can pay their rent and utility bills.

From now through Pentecost (May 23rd) St. Agnes is partnering in a special way to help these families.  Each week Shepherdstown Shares needs

  • 34 dozen eggs
  • 34 loaves of bread
  • 30 gallons of milk
  • 8 1/2 gallons of milk

As a Church community we can make a difference!! By signing up and committing to donating a specific amount of milk, eggs, and/or bread per week for four weeks at a time, you can help ease the food crisis in our local community. We are asking for a one month commitment so that Shepherdstown Shares can depend upon a guaranteed amount of food from our Church community to their pantry every week.
