Domestic violence accounts for 15% of all reported violent crime and yet much of this violence goes unreported.

This issue effects individuals in every community regardless of age, economic status, sexual orientation, gender, race, religion, or nationality.

Let’s gather together as a faith community, learn about the issues, and figure out how we can help.

Join us for an informative presentation where you will hear two representatives from Eastern Panhandle Empowerment Center (EPEC), discuss domestic violence on both a local and national level.

Below are some facts from EPEC about domestic violence

  • EPEC served almost 2,000 women, men and children in the Eastern panhandle in 2023 who were victims of domestic violence or sexual violence
  • Berkeley County has the highest number of human trafficking reports in WV.
  • 1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men will experience intimate partner violence in their lifetime.
  • Nationwide, stalking accounts for 90% of victimization reports among 18 to 24 year olds.
