Bereavement

The Bereavement Committee reaches out with compassion to grieving families. Members provide a reception after the funeral service of a parishioner as requested by the family. Volunteers of this Committee do food prep and other services, such as logistical support, may be provided as needed.

This committee is looking for additional members. If you are interested in participating or have any questions, please let us know.

In addition to providing a reception after a funeral service, in line with the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy found in the teachings of Jesus, the St. Agnes community provides support through our prayers and actions during difficult times by comforting the sorrowful and praying for the dead as we journey through this life. You may attend a funeral, pray for the family, send a card, or make a call.

Prayer is one of the most powerful ways we can support others. Joining together in prayer for the living and the dead entrusts us all into God’s care.

Emergency Response Team (ERT)

The Emergency Response Team is a group of parish volunteers trained in medical and emergency response in addition to trained non-medical parishioners who are responsible for assisting in emergency situations during the liturgy. This group will work in conjunction with the Hospitality Ministers. Members volunteer to cover liturgies and other large church functions.

The purpose of the ERT is to ensure that the parish is prepared to handle a variety of situations and can provide a safer environment for its members and visitors. This includes medical emergencies, natural disasters, or security threats.

The team is currently recruiting new members. If you are interested in joining or would like more information, please let us know.

Welcome Committee

The Welcome Committee focuses on reaching out to new parishioners and welcoming them to St. Agnes’ inclusive and diverse community. The committee provides new parishioners with an informational welcome packet, opportunities to participate in periodic gatherings where they and their families can socialize with existing parishioners, learn more about St Agnes through church tours, and ask any questions they might have about all aspects of parish life.

Committee members center on fellowship and community building while being faithful to supporting St Agnes’ dedication to the love of God and sharing this message with all.

The Welcome Committee also manages church tours and docent training throughout the year for anyone wanting to learn about the design and structure of the church.

If you are interested in taking the training to be a Church docent, let us know.
