The Ugly Sleeping Bag Committee was formed in 2007. We have a group of sewers and non-sewers that gather at the Parish Center monthly to make sleeping bags for the homeless. The Sleeping Bags are assembled from donated sheets, blankets, comforters of any size and men’s ties. We also except new and used sleeping bags. After the sleeping bags are assembled another couple from our Ministry distribute them to two agencies serving the homeless: Jefferson County Community Ministries (JCCM) and Immanuel’s House in Berkeley County.
Participants meet on the fourth Friday of every month at 9:30 AM in the Parish Center. If you can sew or want to learn, join the Ugly Sleeping Bag Committee.
